One area this battle unfolding is in the military, specifically as regards military chaplains. And here, ironically perhaps, the potential victims of this war are our warriors. In fact, if we are to look at this issue -- secular progressives vs traditionalists -- in terms of a battle, then we need to judge the two camps not just in terms of ideology, but in terms of impact. In making a soon-to-be-released documentary on military chaplains, my film partner and I came to realize that what is at stake in the secular vs traditionalist battle is the well-being of the troops. We therefore invite audiences to look at the chaplaincy through the lens of the troops' experiences and needs.
